In her chamber is Laney Grey. When she hears the front door open and close, it appears as though she is eagerly awaiting something. "Honey, I'm home," is what Serene Siren, her stepmother, calls. When Laney hears Serene's voice, she becomes excited. She gets hastily onto the bed and pulls the covers up to her chin. Laney waits for Serene, her face painted in misery. It's obvious that Laney is lying about being ill. Serene pops her head into Laney's room a bit later. Serene has a stethoscope around her neck and is dressed in a lab coat. It's clear that she is a doctor. As part of her plot, Laney tells Serene that she's not feeling well and requests that Serene examine her. As Laney removes her shirt to allow Serene to start the inspection, Serene acts in a totally professional manner and doesn't say anything. But as she pulls off her top, Laney bites back the faint smile that plays on her lips. Serene starts the analysis. To examine Laney's throat, Serene first asks her to open her mouth. Serene doesn't have her regular tools with her, but despite that, she can't see anything wrong with Laney's neck. After that, Serene looks over Laney's entire physique. Laney seems to be enjoying her personal contact with Serene throughout the test, but she does a good job of hiding it by stifling smiles of pleasure, so Serene doesn't seem to notice. Eventually, Serene concludes that Laney is fine. Feeling suspicious, she approaches Laney, who acknowledges that she had been pretending to be close to her mother because Serene has been so preoccupied at work lately. Serene is told by Laney that the only way she can make up for her recent absence from her is to have sex with her. Serene reluctantly accepts at first, then leans in to give Laney a gentle kiss. This is exactly what Laney's doctor prescribed!
