At Ryan Keely's house, she is with Kayla Paige, her new fiancé. They are going to present Vanna Bardot, Ryan's 18-year-old stepdaughter, to Kayla. Vanna hears Ryan calling for her to come into the living room. With reluctance, Vanna goes into the room and meets Kayla. Ryan departs to give them time to get to know one another. Before heading off, Ryan gives Vanna a cheek kiss and Kayla a lip kiss. Vanna displays jealousy upon Kayla's kiss. Kayla smiles when they are by herself. When Kayla tries to ask Vanna how her day is going, she is irritable and evasive, making it obvious that she doesn't want to talk to her. Vanna maintains a safe distance from them, her body rigid and walled off. After a while, Kayla sighs and grows more understanding. It becomes evident that Vanna is struggling to move on from the loss of her birth mother when Kayla brings it up. However, Vanna is still not satisfied with the discussion and tries to frighten Kayla off by approaching her. Kayla contacts Ryan with excitement after appearing surprised. When Vanna finds out that Kayla and Ryan want to have sex with her, she too is shocked!
